| The
ESSEC Business School chose Singapore as the
place for its first foreign research center.
The goal is to develop an original Euro-Asian
approach. A crucial region of the world due
to its size and growth, Asia represents a challenge
to management and development. By establishing
itself in the heart of this region and conducting
research programs tailored to its markets, the
ESSEC Business School expects to enrich its
expertise through contact with new spheres of
experimentation and new cultural references.
The ESSEC-sanofi-aventis Chair develops parts
of its courses at the ESSEC Asian Center. It
generally works on several research projects
with a socio-economic slant, in particular genetic
testing, stem cells, and orphan drugs.

"We are pleased and honored that ESSEC has chosen Singapore
to establish itself in Asia and build
its first major base outside of Europe.
For Singapore, the presence of a leading
European institution such as ESSEC will
fuel emulation and provide diversity in
the already highly international academic
landscape of Singapore."
